• Saunacore uses only western red cedar clear grade “without knots” `which are kiln dried to control moisture at 12%. Other manufacturers will try and use less expensive grades of wood like spruce, hemlock or lower quality species or grades with knots.

• Saunacores western red cedar is 4” tongue and groove with an actual thickness of 11/16”. Other manufacturers save cost by using wood with thicknesses of ½” or 7/16”. These woods have half the strength of the wood that is used in the construction of a Saunacore sauna.
